Strategic Plan

Strategic Plan

SFCP is in need of reviewing our current mission statement and identifying what our members will commit their energies and resources to for the next 3-5 years. To this end, the Board of Trustees has launched a Strategic Plan (SP) Process for members who want to have a say in reviewing and setting that direction. The Board has a strong desire for all members’ voices to be heard.

The process of Strategic Planning began with the Board’s Requests for Proposals last year, and the selection of Center for Strategic Facilitation (https://strategicfacilitation.com) as the SP consultants. Funding for this process was sought from the Windholz Fund.

A Design Team* was assembled and has been working for 6 months to organize this process:

  1. Data Gathering:
    1. series of Surveys of all members–begun March 2022
    2. Focus Groups with members who volunteer–June–September 2022
  2. Strategic Plan Launch: September 24, all day
    • Review of planning process
    • Review of Surveys and Focus Groups–making meaning of this data
    • Who: All members requested to attend–those attending decide if they will be “Planning Process Participants”
  3. Setting out a Practical Vision and Identifying Roadblocks: October 1 & 2
    • Who: Planning Process Participants–self identified after the SP Launch Half days if virtual, one day if in person
  4. Name Strategies in response to Roadblocks and Vision and Implementation Plan:
    • October 15 & 16
    • Who: Planning Process Participants
    • Half days if virtual, one day if in person
  5. Values and SFCP Mission Implementation Check-In: Winter and Spring 2023
    • Align values and mission with Strategic Plan
    • Launch Implementation
    • All members

We hope to hold the September and October events in-person at the Center, but are planning for a virtual option as well.  The graphic below illustrates this plan. And if you have specific questions, feel free to email our Administrative Director, Marcia Hodges at marcia.hodges@sfcp.org. We hope you will fully participate! The Center needs your participation.
